The UNCF STEM Scholars/Tech Ventures program is open. They are looking for graduating, Black and or Hispanic/Latinx, high school students to be part of the program. The UNCF STEM Scholars program is funded by Fund II Foundation and Vista Equity Partners’ Founder, billionaire Robert Smith. It is a ten year initiative to increase the representation of minority students in STEM industries and entrepreneurship.
The program enables highly capable young people to pursue undergraduate STEM majors and prepares them for successful careers in a variety of STEM professions, including launching an entrepreneurial venture. Students participate in a summer orientation, receive career development and mentorship, learn and meet with venture capitalist, and build their networks and ideas to become successful STEM Innovators. There will be a Summer Leadership Institute for those who want to launch a Tech Venture. The application is open for high school seniors who are entering college as first-time freshmen in Fall 2019.
