Bridges to Healthcare was developed by Pipeline and Recruitment Programs to assist in closing the skills gap in healthcare by providing high school students in underrepresented communities exposure to both clinical and non-clinical careers. The program has three goals:
This program will create avenues for high school graduates from vulnerable areas to enter the healthcare workforce in high demand roles, while also bolstering Novant Health’s job ranks with diverse and dedicated team members. This program offers paid internships ($15/hour) to 20 high school students from Title 1 schools per cohort (10 from the Greater Charlotte market and 10 from the Greater Winston-Salem market) in both clinical and non-clinical roles. The program will expand to include the Coastal market beginning in 2023. Internships will encompass 10 hours a week for 8-12 weeks during the Fall and Spring semesters and up to 36 hours a week for eight weeks during the summer. Dear Kelvin Rattley, Who is Eligible?
