North Carolina's Career & College Promise (CCP) program allows eligible high school students to enroll in college classes at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). Students who successfully complete college courses earn college credit they can take with them after graduation. In many cases, students earn dual credit by meeting high school graduation requirements with college courses. CCP offers high school students options to pursue educational and career goals of their choice using a rigorous yet supportive structure designed to help them become successful through these opportunities:
CTE Technical Pathway
•Each pathway when completed leads to a technical certification (over 50 pathways to choose from) •Harding’s Course weight is 4.0 (standard level) |
College Transfer Pathway
•These courses have been approved by the University of North Carolina system for college transfer credit if a C or higher is earned in the course. •Harding’s Course weight is 5.0 (AP/IB level) |
What are the eligibility requirements for CCP?
If any student meets the below eligibility and has a strong self- discipline to learn, they may consider enrolling in CCP courses at Central Piedmont Community College.

If any student meets the below eligibility and has a strong self- discipline to learn, they may consider enrolling in CCP courses at Central Piedmont Community College.
- Must be a junior or senior on track for graduation
- CTE Technical Pathways require UNWEIGHTED 2.8 or higher GPA ( some CTE pathways allow for exceptions/special recommendations) NOTE: If you don't have a 2.8 GPA, you may still be eligible to apply. You will and I (Mr. Rattley) will still need to talk.
- College Transfer Pathway requires UNWEIGHTED GPA 2.8 or higher OR College Benchmark Scores from any category below (scores can be combined)

1. Learn more about Career and College Promise by navigating to the website https://www.cpcc.edu/programs/dual-enrollment While you are on the website, decide what "pathway" that you would like to pursue.
a. Scroll down to Program Options and click on one (1) of two (2) options to see what is offered.
b. Identify the programs within the pathways with the drop-down arrow beside "Dual Enrollment College Transfer Pathways" and "Dual Enrollment Career and Technical Pathways"

2. Before you begin the process of enrolling in Career & College Promise, students must contact Mr. Rattley at [email protected] or Text/Call Mr. Rattley at (980) 533-1149. Please title your email Subject: Career and College Promise or your text message Career and College Promise.
NOTE: Choosing CCP classes means you are now applying to college and are ready for the responsibilities of a college student. This includes being knowledgeable about policies, calendars of both the high school and CPCC. Ignorance is not an excuse, as college students are expected to proactively seek information that impacts their choices.

3. COMPLETE CAREER & COLLEGE PROMISE APPLICATION - All students are required to submit a special Career & College Promise application. Once we have processed your application, you will receive an admissions letter by email from the email address [email protected]. This letter will include your student ID number, which you will need when creating your Central Piedmont login. If you do not receive an email with your student ID within three business days of submitting your Career & College Promise application, please check your junk or spam email folder. Once your complete the application, please contact Mr. Rattley by email notifying completion.
4. REQUEST HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS -To submit a copy of your most recent high school transcripts to Central Piedmont, you will need to create a CFNC username/password: (type your name exactly like in Power school)
5. CREATE YOUR CENTRAL PIEDMONT LOGIN AND ACTIVATE YOUR EMAIL- You will use the Central Piedmont ID number that was assigned to you to create a Central Piedmont login. You will be assigned a username and must create a password to complete your login. This login is required to access your personal information such as class registration, bills, academic records, and student email account. It is also required to log on to the computers at any Central Piedmont campus.
Wait 24 hours after creating your Central Piedmont login and then activate your Central Piedmont email address. Central Piedmont provides an official student email account to every student. Your Central Piedmont login is also your Central Piedmont email. This Central Piedmont email is our official means of communicating with students, the Cashiering Office, instructors, advisors, and for campus alerts. Check your Central Piedmont student email every day.
6. MEET WITH YOUR HIGH SCHOOL LIAISON
The high school liaison, Mr. Rattley, CDC will notify Central Piedmont of your eligibility and assist you in selecting your pathway. Students must also email Mr. Rattley [email protected] prior to enrolling in Career & College Promise for any subsequent semesters to confirm that they want to continue on their current pathway or to switch pathways. Please allow up to seven business days for fully completed/submitted packets to be processed. Check your Central Piedmont student email for status updates daily.
7. BROWSE & PLAN FOR COURSES - Using "Student Planning" through your MyCollege log in, you can start planning on which classes you may want to choose from your pathway list. go to "plan & schedule" & search for class availability by typing the course code Ex Eng 111. You can use the filters of choice on your left. Keep in mind the campus you want to go to, the time you want to take the course, (allow time to commute to CPCC) make a list of 3 to 5-course options( because in case you cannot find a seat in your first choice, its good to have options ready). If taking online class, You must first complete the Online Learning Introduction before you can register for your first online class. This will allow you to secure a seat in your preferred class faster when class registration opens.
Class Registration: Paperwork processed by TBA, WILL have priority registration for Spring classes in Mid November( Date TBD by CPCC)/ You will complete class registration through your CPCC MyCollege login using the directions provided No application, No agreement, No pathway equals NO REGISTRATION!!
8. REGISTER FOR CLASSES Once your CDC has officially submitted your eligibility and pathway, Central Piedmont will process it. Please allow up to seven business days from the date of submission for processing during open enrollment times. Once processed, you will receive an email to your Central Piedmont student email account, after which you may register for classes online using Student Planning in MyCollege. You can start planning a couple of weeks on which classes you may want to choose by searching for class availability through your college login. You may only register for courses from your approved pathway; otherwise, you will be considered out of pathway and will be dropped from the course(s). REGISTRATION: GRANTED PETITIONS priority granted petitions are held for the group/cohort indicated and will only be permitted to register for the indicated course. Once the group has been registered, if there are available seats, additional students can request permission for registration. If there is a course/section that you would like consideration for enrollment that has [email protected] or Rebecca Ramirez as a contact, please email [email protected] and CC: Mr. Rattley [email protected] to be added to the waitlist. An email will be sent to your Central Piedmont student email if you are granted registration for the course.
9. CHECK AND PAY COLLEGE FEES -The CCP dual enrollment program is tuition-free for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. However: CMR students are responsible for student fees during the summer semesters. Student fees must be paid before the first day of the semester to prevent being dropped from courses. Check your balance and pay your bill through your MyCollege account or drop the class before it starts to avoid financial obligations. Fees are non-refundable once the semester starts. For questions about the fee structure, please contact the the sponsored programs

11. PICK UP YOUR STUDENT ID-Your Central Piedmont student ID serves as your library card and may be used in the community for a variety of discounts. Even if you are only taking online classes, you need a student ID. You will need to bring a photo ID to obtain a student ID card.
12. GET BOOKS AND SUPPLIES - $50 book credit per class will be added to your CPCC student account. You will receive an email to your CPCC email account about the details as the semester start date gets closer. You will need to bring a photo ID to the book store to obtain a student ID card when the class starts
