Students if you're considering going into a legal profession or law school, take advantage of an upcoming free virtual conference with Mecklenburg County Bar. There will be panel sessions; a keynote speaker, Hon. Albert Diaz; and law school representatives from North and South Carolina. The event will take place Saturday, March 20 from 10am-1pm. Harding University High School has inducted students into the inaugural class of the National Technical Honor Society for 2020-2021 academic school year. The group recognizes high-performing high school students who have excelled in one of 11 career pathways offered through CMS Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
To be inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, Harding students had to successfully meet grade point average requirements and excel in their career pathway, took a CTE class from which they were recognized by an extraordinary project or competition. Out of 270 juniors and 278 seniors at Harding, a select group of 5 students was inducted into the inaugural class of the National Technical Honor Society. During the first-ever district-wide CMS CTE induction ceremony will take place virtual this Thursday. Our students will be recognized for their accomplishments, received certificates, and recognized as student representatives of Harding University High School. If these students are in your class, please congratulate them on their accomplishments! Road to Hire Pathways is non-profit that works alongside rising seniors to support them on their journey to high earning careers. The program is a one-year experience for students including a paid summer internship and full year class in school. The class is focused on professional development, exposure to technology and career/career readiness. The students who graduate all three phases can earn a FULL tuition paid scholarship to a 4 or 2 year public NC school or entrance into a paid apprenticeship program. For rising seniors who are graduating in 2022, the application will open on Feb 15th, spaces are limited. I would like you to know how SPECIAL you all are! The entire district has made Tuesday, February 23 an asynchronous school day…JUST FOR YOU!! On February 23, ALL 11th graders are expected to report to school and take the ACT as a requirement of the NC state testing plan. The test will begin at 7:15 AM. It will be a half-day so the school day will end at 12:30 PM. Please BE ON TIME!!! So how will you get to school to take the ACT? That is a great question. The school bus will pick up eligible students. If you DO NOT intend to ride the bus on February 23 because you will provide your own transportation, please complete the embedded link as soon as possible.
